AN EXHIBITION OF ORA-ITO’S WORKS OPENED IN THE GALLERY ARTPLAY

An exhibition of Ora-Ito’s works opened in the gallery ARTPLAY. Ira-Ito – is a pseudonym of the designer named Ito Morabito, who became famous last century thanks to represented in Internet things of famous brands which did not exist, such as a rucksack by Louis Vuitton, a laptop in military style decorated with an apple, sandals with a Yves Saint Laurent logo. Virtual piracy Ora-Ito became an advertisement both the brands (for example many Japanese buyers became seriously interested in purchasing of not-existing bag by Louis Vuitton) and the designer himself. Very soon he made several profitable contracts and organized an individual exhibition in Louvre. At the present moment Ora-Ito’s clients are Swatch, Renault, Cappellini, Toyota, Cristofle, L’Oreal and others. The first Ora-Ito’s exhibition in Moscow took place in History Museum in November 2002. The only material object one could see in Artplay was a bottle for Heineken, the other exhibits were posters of those very laptop, rucksack and boots which gave the start to the virtual pirate.
